Romans 1:32 says "Although they know God’s just sentence—that those who practice such things deserve to die —they not only do them but even applaud others who practice them." ______ When I read that, I was reminded of my high school days. Although we knew certain actions were against the school’s rules and regulations and would result in punishment or discipline. We went ahead and did them anyway and acknowledged/applauded those who broke the rules too. ____ Back in my high school, we also somehow made it a standard that you should not cry or feel any remorse during your punishment. Oh, what sinners we were. Didn’t look like sins back then, we were just having fun (Yet we still commit so many sinful acts today as adults and we see them as fun). ____ If you cried or felt remorseful, you broke the status quo and you were not a “bad boy or girl” material enough. And for some acceptance, recognition, and acknowledgment among peers, everyone wanted to be a bad boy or girl. We all wanted to belong to the clique. ____ So when you were being disciplined in front of the whole school during the assembly, you are to look strong, un-remorseful, receive the cane floggings and walk away with style and swag while the whole school, especially your classmates hailed and clapped for you. ___ Foolishness! ___ We applauded wrongdoings and applauded you after your punishment too. We were basically saying, “Keep it up. Do more bad things. Break more laws.” ___ Now, I look at those high school behaviors and NOTHING is different from what we still do today as adults. ____ Follow #Linkinbio to continue reading. ____ https://growinggodseternalfamily.com/2019/02/20/put-away-childish-things/ ____ #GrowUp #Putawaychildishthings #YouAreEternallyLoved #GrowingGodsEternalFamily #BeingGodsLoveToThe99and1
Reposted from @tobie_deeperwalk - "Jesus closed the book, then handed it back to the man in charge and sat down. Everyone in the meeting place looked straight at Jesus." (Luke 4:20) You will ask, "why were they fixing their gaze on Him?" Definitely, He had said some things that needed Proof! The greatest proof of knowledge is Results! People will not care how much you know until there's an evident result to show! So they were hungry for proofs and they got them. Dear believer, please listen. There are some certain truths about our existence here on earth: ¶We live in this world, though we're from Above (not of this world). This means, though we live in a Kingdom down here, we are actually Legitimate Citizens of an higher Kingdom --Above. Now, it's true that every Kingdom has a King that precides over it, so while we parade this world, obeying the King of Heaven should be our priority...for we do not belong here! ¶It's also true that every Kingdom has its own acceptable way, method, practice and systems of living. Now, living a life that the Kingdom Above recognizes is the real essence of our salvation, why we were called out, cleansed and translated from darkness into God's Marvelous Light! These were the exact things Jesus understood as He read the scriptures about His purpose on earth. He knew He wasn't just going to declare, He was also going to Show It! It's very disheartening that a lot of believers spend time quoting and even arguing scriptures but then we find it hard placing "what they do" side by side with "what they say" without seeing a huge contrast. It's not enough to chant "I'm from Above!", people are watching us intently and they're eager to read our lives as books. Each day is a New Chapter in our Life's Book that people are fixing their gazes on, to read. The ultimate thing is that we've got to allow the Spirit guide us because these lives that read us are attached to us. We do not study scriptures to brag or argue, we study to Live, to show Results! Everyone can argue with confessions, but no one will argue with Results. So Dear Believer, study, believe, meditate, declare God's Word, but most importantly, LIVE THE LIFE!
Please click on the link @desiringgod 's bio and read the whole article. #Blessed. ___ Reposted from @desiringgod - My guess is most of you have never heard of John and Betty Stam. They graduated from Moody Bible Institute and went to China as missionaries when they were 25 with China Inland Mission. It was September 1932, and they ministered for two years until December 1934. On Thursday, December 6, 1934, the Communists swept into their village and took them captive. They were 25. The Reds announced in the streets that these foreigners would be executed. The reason: “The foreigners have ruined China.”⠀ ___⠀ Christians have always been slandered. You would hope that if you were a martyr, they would say the real reason why you’re dying instead of shaming you with a lie. But that’s what they said. So, they stripped them of their outer clothing to make the shame even worse. They led them to Eagle Hill. The Stams had a baby. The baby was left behind in the village. They didn’t even know what would happen to this baby, and they went out of the city.⠀ ___⠀ A young soldier lifted the sword while John knelt in front of his wife, and they took off his head in front of her. She didn’t scream. She trembled. She fell on his body, and the same sword dispatched her to King Jesus.⠀ ___⠀ There is no way forward in this mission without at least a willingness for that to happen to you. If you say to Jesus anything but that, you’re not a faithful disciple. We didn’t urge you to come to this conference to make life easy for you; we urge you to come to make your life count — not to make it easy.⠀ ___⠀ So, don’t waste your life on superficial things. Grow deep. Get ready to die well. Give your life unreservedly to what matters. Take hold of life, which is life indeed. Turn off the television. Shut down the empty computer games. Go deep with God. Be much alone with God. ___⠀ #dontwasteyourlife #missions #martyr #makeyourlifecount #cross19 ⠀ Read more at desiringGod.org. #NEWBLOGPOST #LinkInbio So on a previous post, we talked about the importance of being a part of a local church. (Check link in bio too). Then I realized that someone might be asking, how do I find the right local church?  So I am going to give you two (2) personal tips on finding a Local church. And what to do after finding one. ______ 1. PRAY Yes! Pray! I can feel you rolling your eyes. Roll them all you want but, prayer stays as number one.😁Honestly, though,  we must begin every single decision we make by asking God for guidance and wisdom. And finding the right local church is worth praying about. This group of  Christians will become your small spiritual family and it’s important you are in the midst of the right set of people who can help you grow and vice-versa. So, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to the right local church. ____ Follow link in bio to continue reading. ____ #Belong #LocalChurch #Fellowship #Accountability #YouAreEternallyLoved #GrowingGodsEternalFamily #GGEF #BeingGodsLoveToThe99and1
Who, then, can separate us from the love of Christ? ... No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us! For I am certain that nothing can separate us from his love: neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers or powers, neither the present nor the future, neither the world above nor the world below—there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord _ Romans 8:35;37-39. 💜 #YouareEternallyLoved #HappyValentinesDay #GodLovesYou #JesusLovesYou #GrowingGodsEternalFamily #GGEF #BeingGodsLoveToThe99and1
#NEWBLOGPOST #LINKINBIO ____ The local church is a group of Christians who fellowship together. So being a part of a local church is not about the church building or denomination or organization but about the people (Christian), the body of Christ. ___ Hebrews 10:25 says,"Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near." ____ If you have left the church and don’t want to be a part of a local church because you’ve been hurt by fellow Christians or your pastor. Please remember that the church is not for perfect people. ____ I always love to remind myself that Christians are a FAMILY of God and like every other family, we have people with different characters and personalities. Though born of the same Father (God) and the same Spirit, we all came from different earthly/biological families with lots of issues that don’t automatically fade away when we become God’s children. ____ This is why we have the Holy Spirit in us to lead and direct us as we work with him to change is from the inside out. The Father (God) also continues to prune us to become Christlike and bear good fruits and all these transformations MUST happen within the family (the church). ___ God will not chase any of his children out of his family/church because you do not like their personality or they hurt you. He also doesn’t want you to leave and be alone because a fellow brother or sister hurt you. We are a family, we might hurt one another, gossip, and all sort but we stick together, confess our sins to one another, ask for forgiveness and grow together. __ If you have left, please come back and get plugged in once again. If you have never been a part of one, you should be. Don’t be a private or solitary Christian.  We are called a BODY and ARMY of Christ. A part of the body or a soldier in an army cannot and should not stand alone. ___ Read the full post on the blog.
