“She’s going to die.” said my Instructor as we went over the clinical scenario of a patient who is suffering from breast cancer which has metastasized to her bone, brain, and liver.
As he made that statement, I nodded yes, “She’s is definitely going to die.”
Immediately, the Holy Spirit raised a brow, “Seriously?”
Okay, I will reframe my answer
, “Medically, there’s no hope and she’s going to die, EXCEPT God says NOT YET!”
, “Medically, there’s no hope and she’s going to die, EXCEPT God says NOT YET!” I know this is just a clinical scenario and it’s not real life.
But, the disease process/condition this patient is suffering from is real and unfortunately, we have many suffering from all forms of cancers and illnesses today with very poor prognosis and we just don’t see things getting better. The doctor tells you, “We are sorry, but you has just 6 months to live.” You have given up hope. People are already sending you their condolences including the ones that haven’t talked to you in ages.
You must know that doctors and people will always have their own report but God also has his report about you. So, whose report are you going to believe?
It’s sadly amazing how the faith of a strong Christian suddenly crumbles in the face of adversity. We suddenly forget the God that we serve. We forget that he is a miraculous God. What the world calls impossible, he looks at it, smile and says, “IT IS POSSIBLE.” We have limited the all powerful God to just the Bible times. “Oh, God doesn’t do miracles and wonders like that anymore.” Who told you that? Have you been living under the rock? Haven’t you been hearing great healing testimonies? The same God who healed those people will heal you too. My God is still on the throne, his power has not depreciated. He is still the JEHOVAH RAPHA (The Lord that heals). He is the GREAT PHYSICIAN. Doctors may give you their own diagnosis and predictions but God has the final say. If it isn’t your time to die yet, you SHALL not die.
But, have you gone to him yet? Did you pray and cry out to him? Or are you just feeling sorry for yourself? DON’T GIVE UP. Believe in your healing and go to God with great faith and he will answer you. God is still a God of restoration and healing. No situation is too far gone for him to restore.
