God is a Permanent Truth

I‘ve always thought that truths don’t change but lies do. However, I came to realize that the truth does change sometimes in our world. What was true for me last year might not be true this year. It’s not a lie, it just changed based on the season and time. I was a student last year but I am no longer a student this year. Both are truths. My education status just changed.

So we basically have temporary truths and permanent truths.

Then I thought, “It is extremely comforting to know that our God is a permanent truth. He doesn’t change. He is not fickle.”

God’s word (The Bible) is a permanent truth. It doesn’t need revision or updates every now and then. This is why we can trust His word.

God is time itself, so seasons and time have no effect on Him.

He remains the same yesterday, today and forever.

The best part is, since God doesn’t change, His love for us doesn’t change. God is love. His love is constant.

If God’s love could change, then we are all in trouble. That means there’s a chance that He wouldn’t love us tomorrow or His love would become dependent on our works. Now, I have to put in work to be good and stay in God’s good favor & love. Can you imagine how impossible that is? Because God’s standard is extremely high.

So, as I continue to think about the fact that God’s love is always going to be constant, unconditional and have nothing to do with my works, I continue to appreciate the unchanging, unending and permanent nature of God.

The world has truths but they can change and this is why we won’t and can’t find true freedom in such truth. However, the truth found in Jesus is eternal and gives eternal freedom.

Even when the enemy comes to feed you another lie, you can put it down because you know that the truth you have in Christ is a permanent one. He saved you once, you are eternally saved. He loved you once, you are eternally loved.

In this truth, we can stand, we can hope, we can live, we can rest, we can have confidence and we can thrive.

I am grateful for God’s unchanging nature.

God is a permanent truth.  Hallelujah!

God bless you abundantly!
