I heard this phrase as I listened to a sermon, “You are not the savior and can never be. You will never be Jesus.”
Oh, my did that free me from so many things. Maybe you are like me and you always trying to literally save everyone around you.
When I got saved and tasted how sweet Jesus is, I literally started to share the word the little I can and wanted everyone to get saved too. But instead of leading them to Christ, I wanted to do everything for them. It was so hard.
You and I can’t be the savior. We’ve never had to carry the cross and die for the whole world. We’ve never humbled ourselves to the point of death for the whole world and we’ve probably never done it for one person.
Maybe you’ve always felt that you need to be there for everyone, listen, care and do everything and you are just carrying everybody’s burden on you. Before you know it you are going to start crumbling.
We are on this earth as ambassadors of Christ, who is the Savior. We are to lead and direct people to Christ not try to be Christ ourselves.
Now, I am not saying you shouldn’t be there for people and help out when you can. But many times, the only thing you can do is pray for that person and take their issue to the Savior. Don’t always feel like you need to do something especially when you don’t have the ability to.
In the body, other parts of the body will never for a day become the head. Each part has their respective duties and roles and diligence in their respective duties help the whole body function effectively. However, disruption occurs when the ear tries to play the role of the leg or the head.
So, in all we do, we must always lead people to the one (Jesus) who can truly save them not ourselves.
Eternally Loved
