One of my long musings. Be blessed and encouraged.
Just because it’s a new revelation explicitly stated in God’s word that just got opened to your blinded eyes doesn’t mean it’s not true. Just because you’ve read that scripture countless time but suddenly new revelations are given doesn’t mean it’s false.
Don’t put God in a box. Stop acting like you know the Bible more than the one who inspired it. In him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). So even in a familiar Bible passage, deeper wisdom and understanding may be hidden. But if you seek deeper you will find. If you ask more questions you will be answered. If you knock more persistently and harder, you will find.
Don’t be satisfied with what you hear your Pastor preach and how he/she interprets a Bible verse. Seek and search for more.
God is not afraid of your questions, uncertainties or inquisitiveness. He made you a human for a reason. So you can think, ask questions and more.
My Nigeria (Yoruba) people call him “Awamaridi.” The unsearchable God.
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
“Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?”
“Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay them?”
For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Romans 11: 33-36 (NIV)
There is more to God and his word than the little you know. No-one can ever fully know him. But the extent to which you know him depends on you. So read and read again, praying for deeper insight, revelational knowledge, and wisdom.
Don’t read the Scriptures with a conceited attitude thinking you know all that is to be known about a particular scripture. Go to it with an open and humble heart. Ask questions.
Personally, my Bible is filled with question marks in front of verses I don’t quite understand or quite agree with. But I never let my numerous questions stop me from studying the word further. Many of my questions got answered as I studied more, some got answers weeks later, months later and some are still unanswered but am gonna keep asking, searching and digging the word.
Don’t be the ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth.
Don’t be among the ones who will hear but will never understand
If you don’t understand, ask for understanding.
The disciples always asked Jesus to interpret his parables. They showed the willingness to learn and Jesus could not deny them an interpretation. For if you ask you shall receive.
Don’t put God in a box.
Don’t put His inspired Word in a box.
Don’t put His voice in a box.
Don’t put His ways in a box.
Don’t repeat history.
Yes!
Learn from the Pharisees and don’t be like them. They were not willing to KNOW more about God. They put him in a box and labeled him as the “God of laws, traditions, and routines.” Unwillingly to accept the “God of grace, unconditional love, and forgiveness.”
Tear open that box you have placed God and his Word.
Let the fullness of God flow freely in and through you.
Run to his feet daily to learn and KNOW him more.
Pray for spiritual sight to see and ears to hear and heart to receive like a child what your Father says to you.
God bless.
You are Eternally Loved.
I’m blessed and instructed.
Thank you for this.
