“Disciple of Jesus Christ“
Is it enough for you?
Is the description above enough for you?
I recently watched a Christian documentary and each person was introduced as a “Disciple of Jesus Christ.”

No one was introduced or titled as a pastor, prophet, author, writer, doctor, teacher, lawyer, fashion designer, YouTube, etc.
None!
Everyone had the same title and position: Disciple of Jesus Christ.
And I couldn’t help but think about that day in, day out.
And as I thought I remembered Philippians 3.
Let’s read some of it together.
Paul said:
“If anyone else thinks he has grounds for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised the eighth day; of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born of Hebrews; regarding the law, a Pharisee; regarding zeal, persecuting the church; regarding the righteousness that is in the law, blameless.
Philippians 3:4-6 CSB
Wow! Lots of accolades. He deserves many more titles and positions in the body of Christ.
But…
But?
Yes but.
Paul further said:
BUT everything that was a gain to me, I have considered to be a LOSS because of Christ. More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of KNOWING Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them as dung, so that I may GAIN Christ and be FOUND in him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ _ the righteousness from God based on faith. My GOAL is to KNOW Him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to His death, assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead.
PHILIPPIANS 3: 7 – 11 CSB
Oh so beautiful!
What am I trying to say?
Apostle Paul had a title/office in the body of Christ. Luke was a physician.
But that wasn’t what mattered. At the end of it all, he was simply a disciple of Christ Jesus who wanted nothing more but to KNOW his Lord.
I don’t care what position, title, or office we all hold either in the body of Christ, at your local church, at your job, etc. I hope at the end of it all we are all simply disciples of Christ Jesus who want nothing more but to Know Christ, gain Christ, and be found in him.
God bless
You are Eternally Loved.
