Come up the mountain

“So be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself to Me there on the top of the mountain.”

Exodus 34:2 (NKJV)

A relationship and Communion with the Holy God. What an honor and privilege!

Exodus chapters 32-34 is one of my favorite passages in the scripture because I see the depth of the relationship and Intimacy between a man (Moses) and God.

To give a bit of context to the text above, the Israelites had just carved the golden calf with the help of Aaron in Exodus 32. Moses had just come down the mountain after a 40 days meeting with God to receive the tarbanacle design and 10 commandment from God. God was angry at the Israelites and Moses was able to intercede for them and the Bible says that God relented his wrath (Exodus 32:14).

Y’all, the intercession of ONE MAN is powerful but intercession with intimacy is on another level (I’ll do a video on this soon).

Anyway, God was still kinda angry and he said he wouldn’t go with the Israelites into the promise land and again Moses pitched his tent away from the Israelites and intercede on their behalf (Exodus 33).

During the intercession, Moses is simultaneously enjoying the presence and glory of the Lord. Oh my! (Exodus 33:18-23).

After such awesome moment with the Lord, Moses was then instructed
to come up the mountain with new stones tablets for the ten commandments (Moses had broken the first set due to anger at the Israelites for worshipping a golden calf).

Moses was instructed to come ALONE. This time Joshua doesn’t even have the privilege of coming with him. The moment he went up, God’s presence cover the mountain (noone dares come near.). And the Bible said Moses spent another 40 days and 40 nights with no food or water (Exodus 34: 28) WITH GOD. (Best vacation ever!).

When Moses came down from the mountain his face was so radiant from spending so much time with the Holy and radiant God that he had to go around with a veil covering his face.

NOW,
I don’t know about you but I read that and I wonder, “If Moses in the old testament could enjoy such Communion with God, how much more I who have been saved by Jesus and have the Holy Spirit in me?”

I don’t know about you but I wanna come up the mountain & meet with God & build intimacy with him. I want to KNOW God more. It’s not necessarily a literally mountain like mount Sinai back then, but a sacred separation and time with God. It could be in your bedroom, at church, anywhere.

It’s an intentional and conscious effort to spend time with God and ENJOY his presence.

Just like Moses, God is saying to you today, “Come up the mountain and present thyself to me up there.” Present yourself as a living sacrifice, Holy and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1). This is WORSHIP.

๐•ฎ๐–”๐–’๐–Š ๐–š๐–• ๐–™๐–๐–Š ๐•ธ๐–”๐–š๐–“๐–™๐–†๐–Ž๐–“
Come up hither.
Don’t be distracted.
Focus on God.
Be that one man like Moses.
Sit with God till thy face and whole being is radiant.

A relationship with God is not accidental, it will require WORK.
You might not always feel like it but keep coming.
If you gotta crawl up the mountain crawl.
Take rest and pauses on the way but don’t give up and quit all together.
Each day come up the mountain, present yourself and meet God.

Come up to God daily to KNOW him and BE like him.

God bless.

You are Eternally Loved.
