And we usually turn away from God because we realize that He is a holy God and we don't want him to see our mess. But He is a God who loves us inspite & because of our mess. So, why run away from Him when we trip again, fall again and mess up again. He knew that we would still have flaws when He chose to adopt us into His family. He understands that we still need to grow. Drunkenness is a sin. And you might say I don't drink at all or drink too much. But what if we are not drunk on alcohol but things of the world & works of the flesh such as pride, sexual immorality, idolatry, hate, jealousy, anger, etc. See, the Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9, "The heart is deceitful above all things. It is extremely sick; Who can understand it fully and know its secret motives?" We usually think that we are good and nice people. But somedays we do think that we didn't know we were capable of doing. We realize that we truly don't know ourselves. Only God truly knows us. He looks at the heart. He is the only one who understands it. We don't. _______________ We've been looking at different areas where pride in our heart and lives could be an hindrance and reason why we don't do what we ought to do as Christians (See last 3 posts). What amazes me is how we don't seem to know we've got pride until we allow God's word to #illuminate every dark areas of our lives. ____________ In this #Heartchecktime, we only addressed pride. But many of us have got other things in our hearts that need to be rooted out. So, my plea is that you will spend time this week praying and asking God to show you everything in you that is not of Him, ask him to prune you thoroughly and work/fill you with Hs fruit of the spirit. _____________ P.S. This might be the hardest and at the same time the best prayer you will ever pray. God loves prayers like this. This is you giving him full access into your heart and life for Him to work on you. So, get ready because you will be amazed at see how God's light will illuminate every dark areas of your heart that you weren't even aware of. ___________ So, pray and expect an answer. Could it be that you are not sharing the gospel and being a witness of the truth because of pride? Many times I have convinced myself that I am an introvert, shy, not outspoken, didn't know the Bible enough and these were the reasons I had a hard time sharing God'sword with others. But I later found out that though all these might have been a part but the real reason why I WOULDN'T & DIDN'T share the gospel was because of pride. I wanted to save myself from embarrassment. I wanted to save myself from mockery, what people might say. _____________ I was trying to save my pride. And I actually still deal with this till today. I've still got pride.In fact, let me be honest with you. This pride heart check time we’ve been having for the past 2 days is what God has been revealing and dealing with my heart on for the past few months and I decided to share with you guys because I believe that someone is probably dealing with the same thing. I had pride and I didn’t even know it. Pride was hindering a lot in my life and I was oblivious. So, could it be that you are like me? Could it be you run and shy away from standing up for the truth because of your pride? Could it be you are not stepping out into God's calling for you because you are so scared of failure and trying to save the little pride you have? ______________ When I realized this, I am constantly praying and telling myself daily that I must lose myself to truly find myself in Christ. Is it gonna be your pride or people's souls? Like literally people's eternity. Am I gonna try to preserve my pride for the short time on earth or just go all out for Jesus? And this ties in with LOVE which we looked at yesterday. Am we gonna love people enough to share LIFE (Jesus) with them or are we gonna be prideful enough to hold back LIFE from them?And if the pride in us is so strong to hold back LIFE from others, just how deep is that pride? ____________ So, #HeartCheck, Asa Christian and follower of Christ, WHY are you not sharing the gospel? ____________ Eternally Loved #GrowingGodsEternalFamily #GGEF #BeingGodsLovetothe99and1

Could it be that pride is keeping you from truly loving others? Unconditional love (agape) can be hard with pride in our heart. Especially when these people have offended us. "Why should I keep loving you? I can't because I need to have some pride and self respect." We think if we forgive easily that makes us look weak and stupid. So we tru to protect our pride. But unconditional love is one that keeps on loving. The love we've been called to give to one another is the same as the one we give ourselves. Do you stop loving yourself when you do something wrong? The answer should be NO! (Though I have found out that many hate themselves and beat themselves up because they can't measure up to a standard. In this case you can't love others because you can’t give what you don’t have. The command says,love others AS YOURSELF. You need to love you first.) ______________ Also,we are quick to love (if it's truly love) only the people at the same "level" as us and push aside those who don't measure up to us because we can't afford to be seen loving, spending time or associating with lower level people. Again, we must remember that we are called to love Unconditionally not with conditions and standards. The one person who had the right to all pride was Jesus. He is God yet, he humbled himself and died for us because of his unconditional love for us. As disciples of Christ, we must come down from our high horses and extend the abundance and overflow of God's love to others. _____________ So,#HeartCheck, Are you the, I can't associate with you because of my class type of person or do you freely extend love to others regardless of who they are? ____________ Eternally Loved #GrowingGodsEternalFamily #GGEF #BeingGodsLovetothe99and1

Could it be that pride is keeping us from praying and calling unto God? We humans can be so narcissistic sometimes and we somehow think we can handle things on our own and we don't need to ask God for help. Especially the"little issues", we say to ourselves, "I've got this." And we only pray, communicate and talk to God when we have, "big issues." ____________ We must understand that prayer is more than you asking God for something. It is a communication between you and God. God doesn't just want you to come to him when your world is literally upside down. He also wants to communicate with you when everything is all smooth and sailing. Prayer is much more than asking God for help, it is a vital component of your relationship with God. You learn to rely on him and hear his voice. God delights in your communication with Him. This is why 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says we should pray without ceasing. We do this by constantly talking to God, about EVERYTHING, be it your work, makeup, outfit, friend, family, food, weight, in the shower, in your car, at work. Prayer should become an act of worship. A lifestyle. _______________ But somehow the enemy has clouded our minds to think we should only pray when we want something big or when we are in trouble because we can always handle some things ourselves. Pride puffs us up and deprives us of the benefits of communicating with Abba daily. But a constant communication and reliance on God humbles us and deepen our intimacy with Him. _____________ So, #HeartCheck, Are you not praying because you've got pride in your heart? ____________ Eternally Loved #GrowingGodsEternalFamily #GGEF #BeingGodsLovetothe99and1

#NEWBLOGPOST #WhenWEaretheCauseofOffense _______________ Previously, we talked about the inevitability of offense, why you should expect it and how to deal with it. What about the other part? Yeah, the part that says, “but woe unto him, through whom offense come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to stumble.” _____________ Oh, let me see, we probably attributed that to someone else right? But the reality is, sometimes, you and I are the ones causing the offense, sometimes it is through you and me that the offense is coming and though it sounds harsh and we probably rebuke it but the Word says woeunto us if the offense or sin is coming through us. And we probably just want to read that and skip through it because it doesn’t sound good and encouraging.
