Don’t all of us have one Father? Didn’t one God create us? Why then do we act treacherously against one another, profaning the covenant of our fathers? _ Malachi 2:10
The Bible says in Revelation 12:9, “So the great dragon was thrown out–the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.”
The devil is a deceiver and not only has he deceived few people but the whole world. The devil started this right from the beginning of creation with Adam and Eve. He deceived them into disobeying God and eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And the word of God reminds us in 2 Corinthians 2:11 that the enemy still hasn’t changed his nature. The only tricks and scheme he has is deception and lies.
He has deceived us into thinking that one color is better than the other and that one race is better than the other.
Just as God knew that man was going to fall at the beginning of creation and already predestined us to be adopted back to him through the death of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:5). He also knew that creating us in different colors, races, and varieties was a perfect recipe for the devil’s deception.
God knew the enemy would deceive the people with the brighter skin to dominate the people with the darker skin (Because we think that all that glitter is gold, better & superior).
God knew.
He knows the end from the beginning.
He knew this racism thingy was gonna happen.
Why then did God create us like that or allow it, you ask?
Well, He wanted to teach us a valuable lesson. A lesson God still yearns we get, understand and live.
You’ll be surprised that it is the same exact lesson that we have always been learning but failed to learn and most likely MANY will FOREVER FAIL to learn.
That lesson is simply, LOVE.
Though our differences could lead to deception and hatred, it could also strengthen our love for one another.
However, the Bible already tells us in Matthew 24:11, that in the last days, “because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will wax cold.” Which means that HATE will spread like wildfire. Which we already see happening.
But, it is God’s will that we will love one another regardless of the difference between us. It is so much easier to love someone that is exactly the same as you. This is the reason why Blacks are able to come together and form cliques & associations though they might not know one another. But because they all have dark skins (or same origin because you can be extremely light skinned but black).
But that isn’t true love. This is just love based on commonality. It is not the type of love God is calling us to. God is calling us to agape love. A love that is unconditional. A love that keeps on loving regardless of differences (skin color, background and origin). A love doesn’t just talk but acts. A love that breaks all barriers no matter how small or big. A love that breaks through pride and the deception of the enemy. A love that humbles.
Racism is a sum total and result of deception and waxed cold love. #Hate
The absence of this type of love is what gave rise to racism which I believe is just a fancy word for HATE. Racism is a sum total and result of deception and waxed cold love. We are deceived into thinking we are better than someone else and such deception is fueled by our lack of love. Our love is waxed cold. It is not a burning & rekindling love.
If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers ___ James 2:8-9
Even God in all HIS Majesty, sovereignty and power. He, the creator loves and has a relationship with His creations. He even died for us.
So, God is calling us to love. God is calling us to come out of satan’s deception. God wants us to understand that no-one is better than the other. He created all man equally and loves them equally. God shows no favoritism (Romans 2:11).
LOVE breaks all difference and deception.
Oh, how beautiful such a world would have been.
Sadly, the whole world is deceived by the devil. He deceives us to thinking that we have to be superior and the superior shouldn’t love or associate with the inferior. Thus, it has become extremely hard for us to love one another.
It’s a sad reality.
I hate to end on this note, but, I don’t see racism going away (we will talk more on this as we continue the series).
Instead, we must leave it behind and press forward in Christ Jesus.
For in Christ Jesus, we have hope.
In Christ Jesus, we have overflowing and abundant love.
In Christ Jesus, we break free from the enemy’s deception and freely love others
For we begin to understand that we love one another because God loved us first.
God Bless.
You are Eternally Loved.
The series (Freedom from Racism) continues tomorrow. Be sure to stop by. And if you’ve been blessed be sure to share with others. God bless.
