DAY 2
HOMOSEXUALITY (GAY & LESBIANS), BISEXUAL.
Hello, family☺️, It is DAY 2 of our discussion on sexual immorality and restoration. Happy reading! Thanks. God bless.🙏🤗
Homosexuality is a sexual orientation. A homosexual person is romantically or sexually attracted to people of their own gender.
Bisexual is defined as an individual who is sexually attracted to both men and women.
The Bible says in Genesis 2:18 – 22, “ Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still, there was no helper just right for him. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.”
So, what is the lesson from that short passage of the Bible? First, we can establish the fact that God apparently hates loneliness. He desires that man has a RIGHT helper by his side. God tried other lower animals and still the right helper wasn’t found. God had to create one from man. Note: God created a “woman.” He could have decided to create another man to be a helper to the man or he could have created a man and a woman and tell the man, “Man, feel free to choose anyone of them as your helper or pick both.” But the Bible was explicit. God created a WOMAN for the man.
The word “Sexual orientation” which means “a person’s sexual identity in relation to the gender to which they are attracted; the fact of being heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual.”
It is really sad that such term even exists in the first place. That is basically telling people you are free to choose what gender you want to be attracted to. You are free to be heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual. But by the Bible standards, we were all created to be heterosexual. Man to woman, NOT “man to man” or “woman to woman” or “I can’t decide, so, I’ll pick both.” It is meant to be husband and wife, any other combination is a sin and ungodly.
The BIG problem with our generation is that we do not learn from past examples. And there are quite a lot of examples and lessons to learn from the old testament. 1 Corinthians 10 tells us this. We are advised to learn and avoid the mistakes that Israel made. Vs 6 – 8 (NASB) says, “Now these things [the warnings and admonitions] took place as examples for us so that we would not crave evil things as they did…We must not indulge in [nor tolerate] sexual immorality, as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand [suddenly] fell [dead] in a single day!”
Homosexuality is not a new topic. We can trace it back to the Old Testament with the story of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19. Fine, the story is quite well known, but clearly, we still don’t get the gist. So, I’ll give us a quick rundown of that story and will we examine it.
Let’s go back a chapter so we can understand the story better. In Genesis 18 (AMP), God visited Abraham and was accompanied by two angels. When God was leaving, he told Abraham about his plan to destroy Sodom & Gomorrah. But Lot who is Abraham’s nephew stays in Sodom and Abraham didn’t want him destroyed with them, so he interceded on his behalf. He asked God a question in Genesis 18: 24, “Suppose there are fifty righteous [people] within the city; will You really sweep it away and not spare it for the sake of the fifty righteous who are in it?” But we know who our God is, he will NEVER forsake the righteous ones (Psalm 37: 28.). So, God replied in vs. 26, “If I find within the city of Sodom fifty righteous [people], then I will spare the entire place for their sake.” Abraham was a very brave and persistent man, and he bargained the number all the way down to ten (10) righteous people, and of course, God’s answer never changed.
Now in Genesis 19 (AMP). God didn’t find up to ten righteous men in Sodom. Immediately those two angels who went ahead of God to Sodom got to the city gate, Lot (Abraham’s nephew) saw them and invited them into his home. And just before they could lay down to sleep. The Bible says in vs. 4 – 5, “…the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, surrounded the house, all the men from every quarter; and they called out to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we may know them [intimately].” In other words, “so we may have sex with them.” But, Lot offered his two virgin daughters instead (Honestly, I don’t know what he was thinking. He really loved God) but these men didn’t want women, they wanted to have sex with men. So, they refused Lot’s offer, insulted him, became violent and almost broke his door.
Like I said earlier, there were not up to ten righteous people in Sodom. God only found one, Lot. Well if we include his wife and his two daughters, that will be four which is still not up to ten. So, the angels of God rescued Lot and his family, and vs. 24 it says, “ Then the Lord rained down brimstone (flaming sulfur) and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of heaven, and He overthrew (demolished, ended) those cities, and the entire valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and whatever grew on the ground.” Hmmn… What an end!
Now, I don’t know what part of that story touched you but vs. 4 really surprised me. It says, “the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, surrounded the house, all the men from every quarter.” This sounded really familiar to our world today. Homosexuality spreads among all population. Young or old. The teenagers are watching television, and they keep seeing the various acts of homosexuality (gays and lesbians) and these are sowing bad seeds into them. And according to Erik Erikson’s psychosocial theory, Adolescence is a stage of Ego Identity vs. Role Confusion. At this stage, they are more independent, and they start looking into their future including relationships. They start asking questions like, “Who am I?” And of course in the process, due to what the society has planted into them, the kind of movies they watched and friends they have kept, they also ask this questions, “What is my sexual orientation, am I straight, am I gay, l am a lesbian or am I bisexual?”
Well, there is only one right choice. And the Bible is very clear about that in Leviticus 18: 22, “Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.”
We try to create alternative lifestyles and declare it free for everyone to make a choice. But when it comes to sex and marriage, we should not deceive ourselves about other choices except heterosexual being morally right. It is a big sin. God detests it.
Now, Gay marriage is legalized in America, and there is even an LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community. It’s only a matter of time before other countries legalize it too. The world is falling apart. The end times are drawing near, and the devil (the enemy) is putting so many people in bondage, and we just can’t see it. We are blinded, and many hearts are hardened. 1 Corinthians 6:12 (MSG) says, “ Just because something is technically legal doesn’t mean that it’s spiritually appropriate. If I went around doing whatever I thought I could get by with, I’d be a slave to my whims.” Everything is permissible, but we must remember that not everything is beneficial We shouldn’t glamorize and normalize sin. Let’s call it what it really is, a sin. This fight isn’t physical at all but spiritual. And until we acknowledge that there is a problem, we will never look for a solution.
Romans 1: 26 – 27 says, “That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.” We shouldn’t test God’s patience. “They suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved” which makes me wonder what these penalties could be. This could refer to the sin of homosexuality itself or some physical disorder. During my research, I found out that, AIDs A Timeline of AIDS was first discovered in 1981 among a group of gay men in Los Angeles, New York, California, etc., by the U.S. CDC. Well, I am not ultimately saying AIDs is the consequences for homosexuality because heterosexual people still get it today even the righteous ones and that’s the sad consequence of living in such a sinful world. However, we can’t put our hands on a hot stove and not expect to get burn. Every one of our actions come with consequences, and some are not very pleasant. Galatians 6: 7 – 8 (AMP) warns us, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap. For the one who sows to his flesh [his sinful capacity, his worldliness, his disgraceful impulses] will reap from the flesh ruin and destruction, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
And being bisexual is basically an act of greediness. We can’t decide to have our cakes and eat it too. We must pick one and pick RIGHT (heterosexual). If you are a man, please date or marry a woman and if you are a woman date or marry a man.
Let us live in line with God’s laws and standards. The devil is a big liar, and we shouldn’t listen to his lies and deception. You are not born to be gay, lesbian or bisexual or even transgender. God makes no mistakes. He created us perfectly. However, we were born in sin and iniquity into a sinful world, thus we are prone to sinful acts of all sorts including sexual immoralities, gossip, murder, hate, etc. However, thank God for Jesus. He died for us so we could be washed of sin and free from its chains. You can be free from homosexuality and bisexuality too.
Let’s go to God in prayer that he might help us and rid us of all Satan’s lies. We should also study our Bibles so we can know what is right and what is wrong. Just because the whole world is doing it doesn’t automatically makes an action right. We must filter it through the word of God. Romans 12: 2 (AMP) tells us, “ And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
May God help us in Jesus name. Amen. I earnestly pray that God will send out more laborers into the field, so the lost souls and harvests can be brought back into the family. Because it really breaks my heart and scares me that not everyone will be saved and enter into God’s rest (Hebrews 4: 1-2). So, while we still have time before the second coming of Jesus, let us abandon our sinful ways, come to Christ, repent of our sins, receive salvation, restoration and enter through the narrow gate while it’s still open.
