Here’s a question:
Have you ever thought that being a believer and obeying God is futile?
Like seriously, you see unbelievers who care nothing about God and His word prospering in various areas of their lives.
Yet, YOU, the believer is getting nothing. No rewards for being a good and following God’s words and commands. 🤷♀️🙆♀️🤦♀️
I came across a discussion on this yesterday and the various views were very interesting to me.
So here’s my belief and perspective. 😉
First, we must understand that abiding by scriptural ideals is not for God’s benefit. It’s for our own good. If we decide to quit it and live like others doing everything we wanna do, good or bad. It’s okay too. The scripture does say that everything is permissible but not all is beneficial. This means we must understand that ACTIONS have CONSEQUENCES.
The scripture is for our own good. It is not a requirement for God’s reward. God doesn’t bless us because we do good. He blesses us because of WHO HE IS. A loving Father! When we were sinners He still blessed us.
“For he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” (Matthew 5:45).
However, now that we are God’s children, not only do we enjoy his gracious and generous blessings, we have the added benefit of reaping the harvests of our good actions and deeds.
” Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life” (Galatians 6-7-8).
Even though we sometimes think that unbelievers have it better than us.
Do they really?🤔
Sometimes we really do need to count our blessings. Ypu literally have eternal life, yet you think unbelievers have it better than you? #Checkyourmindset🤔
We also need to re-assess our idea of “rewards.”
Finally, we need to check ourselves and ask, “Do we really trust God?”
Just because you ain’t getting the reward you think you deserve when you want it, doesn’t mean he’s neglecting you. This is where our faith and trust in God come into place.
One of my favorite verses says,
“Since he did not spare his own Son but have him up for us all, how will he not along with Christ give us all things?” (Romans 8:32).
We gotta trust God.
He knows what’s best for you and at the appointed time he will show up for you according to his will for you. Trust him.
“Everything I have is yours” says The Father
(Luke 15:31).
Stay with the Father (God). Be unyielded by life & its worries.
God bless you
You are Eternally Loved
