Even though Satan and some of the Church (Christian) has always implied that transformation comes before salvation by telling people to change and be perfect before coming to Christ. The truth remains that God wants you to come just as you are. God adopts sick people. He accepts those the world rejects. He came for the sick people, the imperfect people, the crazy, messed up, jacked up, nasty, evil, wicked and every other word that qualifies who you think you are …people.
He is a God that is willing to adopt you just as you are into his family. When you enter his family then will he begin to TRANSFORM you. You can NEVER get transformed into who God has created you to be outside of God’s family. You can’t get transformed without Jesus. You can’t walk this sinful earth on your own without the Holy Spirit.
If we could, Jesus wouldn’t have to come to die for us.
So, get saved.
Another reason to Get saved is, salvation is a highly needed pre-requisite to heaven.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” _ John 3:3.
“How do I get saved?”
God laid it out for us in his word explicitly in Romans 10:9. “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
That’s all you have to do. Yes, it is that simple.
You don’t need a pastor to pray over you, an altar call or anything. You just need YOU. Wherever you are, open your mouth and DECLARE that Jesus is Lord and BELIEVE in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and ask Him to take control of your life.
Period.
But it doesn’t end there.
And this is where many get lost in the world again.
It’s time for you to join a local bible based church (a fellowship of Christians). You’ve gotta leave that old life and friends that came with it and mix up with your new family in Christ Jesus. And thankfully there’s a place you can easily find them every Sundays. A Church building.
Now understand that everybody in the church is not perfect, in fact, none of us are. So, when you meet a Christian who still gossips and does some sinful things don’t get discouraged and run back into the world. Yes, they gossip and do some bad things but in there somewhere is the Holy Spirit also transforming them as they stay in the church and work out their salvation.
Note: We work out our salvation. We DON’T work FOR our salvation. We can never work for it or earn it. It’s a gift.
“How do I find the right church?”
I strongly believe the Holy Spirit who now lives in you will lead you to one. There you will meet people who will begin to influence your life and work with the Holy Spirit to transform you from the inside out.
Don’t be in a hurry to be transformed. Don’t compare your walk/life with another’s. God is not a magician. You don’t suddenly become good the minute you get saved. You don’t suddenly drop all your sins and bad deeds.
It’s a process.
But you can be certain that if you will stay close to God in his word and his family, the Lord God who has started this good work in you will be certain to complete it on the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).
Slowly you will look back over your life and say, “I have CHANGED.”
Truly, the old has gone and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17).
God bless you.
You are Eternally Loved.
