It’s Halloween! The pumpkins are out, parents are picking out their kids’ costumes and their own costumes. Everyone is excited about looking like a hero or a character they admire. Yet no one dresses like Jesus. Not to be a party pooper but we could at least wear a white robe, put on a long wig hair, and carry a sheep and a staff. That will be a perfect costume. I can picture it. Can you?
Hahaha.
But honestly, the calling on our lives is more than just dressing as Jesus but living like Jesus. We are called to be Christlike. We get to be like Jesus in our home, school, workplace, community and the local church. Yet, we don’t do that with half of the enthusiasm as we do the Halloween costume dress up.
Now, I am not particularly against Halloween or anything but I just want us to ponder on how much significance, time, and intentional effort we give things that have very little significance yet we give so little significance to the most significant person ever.
We’ve gotta get our priorities right and eternal things should be at the top of our list receiving the most attention and taking up most of our time.
So, darling, are you not sure what to dress up as for this Halloween?
Here’s a suggestion, put on Jesus.
And I am not talking about the dress up description I gave earlier. Don’t go around carrying a sheep and holding a staff. You can dress up as anyone you want to dress up as, but be Christlike. Put on Jesus.
You know the best part?
You don’t ever have to take Him off even after Halloween is over.
You are gonna have to take off your Halloween costume. But keep Jesus on.
The fun never ends with the month of October. It’s eternal.
Put on Jesus.
Happy Halloween 🎃
God bless.
You are Eternally Loved.

I’m inspired by this. Instructed too.
Thank God for his wisdom at work in you.
